Default The Offering of Blood and Factions

FACTIONS TROUBLE

To be a Monk without any energy drain or energy boost spells is nealy imposible. Once the battle comes to its final, your mana level is close to zero and you keep watching you mates die...

Accidntally, I realised, that there is no Offering of Blood skill in Factions. There comes the question - how to renew mana, playing for a Monk?!

What king of spells would you advise to creat a monk , who will be effective in the begging of the battle and in the end of it?! Is it better to choose the Mesmer as your second profession - with his inspiraton Magic or something else?! Do you think it is worth taking Mesmer as a secondary profession to keep your mana pull full?!

I need your help...

There are lots of threads about this. Mesmer is almost always your best secondary for monk, simply because not only does it include energy management, but also many other skills that help monks (like hex breaker, inspired hex, distortion, etc.)

Check the Monk section of the campfire for more info.

Mo/N
dwayna kiss
heal other (or jameiĀ“s gaze)
signet of devotion
healing touch
remove hex
mend condition
Blood is Power (elite)
rebirth

blood 8
healing 12
divine 12
prot 2 or 3.

multipurpose monk, removes conditions, hexes and is a battery for others.
i have used this build since prophecies, have had no need to change it in faction, i rarely run out of energy while keeping teammates combat ready during fights. a ritualist/necro praised me for having this skill as he raised his minions without having to worry about his energy.

i have gotten used to this build, and at least for me, its very effective.
only in the most intense of the fights i have ran out of energy.

Unless they changed something Blood is Power is "target other ally" so no you shouldn't be able to use it on yourself. I don't have this elite, but I'm not sure I'd use it. It's just a step up from Blood Ritual and I'd just assume take Blood Ritual and then use OoB for myself or perhaps Well of Power maybe. Like anything though each skill has it's place so to each their own.

There is elite which reduces your energy cost at average 4-5 energy (it can raise up to 7 but too much high for 2nd class). Drawback is the HP sacrifice you put everytime you cast a spell. This can be somehow negated with Vigorious spirit...even with healing breeze lol.

This is Cultist's Fervor and is really bad on a Monk.

Wear Aescetics armor and get a +12/+15-1 Offhand for roughly... 69 energy?
Then use as much healing as you can get for as little energy as needed. I'd recommend...
WoH, Dwayna's Kiss, Orison, Healing Touch (self heal), Mend Ailment, Inspired Hex, Healing Seed, Res of some sort.

^ the above is for those who know how to properly place heals at the most opportune moments (PvE only), and if you're confident enough not to waste all of your energy on 10 energy spells like Healing Breeze... WoH, kiss, Orison, and Touch are all 5 energy spells. WoH can easily heal for 200+ and Kiss outheals both WoH and Orison if there are enough enchant's or hexes on your target. More bang for your buck =]

/Me is about the only secondary a true monk should ever choose nowadays outside of farming and gimmicky things that never work.

Why would you WANT offerings over the Inspiration line anyway? Health sac..and you lose the access to the helpful skills of a mesmer.
